1888 Dinner This Saturday
Posted 10 November 2008
Today, Monday, Nov. 10, is the
final day to order tickets for the 3rd Annual Historical 1888 Dinner to
be held this Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Historic Franklin Hotel in
Strawberry Point.
Enjoy a re-creation of an actual dinner served in 1888 at the Blake
House, which stood at the site of the Franklin Hotel. The sitdown
dinner will feature white linens, soft candle light, and live music
with selections from that era.
New this year is a Fashion Show and "Language of the Fan" presented by
River Junction Trade Company of McGregor.
Dinners will be served at 11:00 a.m., 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. From 1:00-6:00
p.m. tours will be offered of some of Strawberry Point's
turn-of-the-century homes and the Wilder Museum.
Horse drawn carriage rides are available to the tours. For reservations
or info, call McKenzie Johnson at the Economic Development Office
933-4417 or go on line at www.iowahistoricdinner.com
